The North British Rubber Co., Ltd., have appointed Mr. E. H. R. Schmidt tyre replacement sales manager for U.S. Royal. Mr. Schmidt will work in dose association with Mr. T. A. Bayliss, who has been appointed tyre field sales manager. Both have offices at 204/208 Tottenham Court Road, W.I. Mr. Robert Shaw has been appointed original equipment sales manager, tyre division, in succession to Mr. A. Eaton-Clarke, who has returned to the U.S.
Mr. T. J. Puncher is now representing the Barking Garage and Engineering Co., Ltd., in Essex for the sale of Brockhouse trailers and commercial bodywork.
Mr. G. Monteith-Matthews has been appointed press relations and Sales promotion manager of Tudor Accessories, Ltd., of Hayes, Middlesex.

Mr. E. Pauley, who started work with London's buses as a garage office boy, has been appointed assistant divisional superintendent for the south division of the central bus network of London Transport.
Councillor L. Sharpe, 51, transport driver for a petroleum company is to be the next Mayor of Hedon, near Hull. His wife will be the Mayoress. Councillor Sharpe is now chairman of the Housing and Town Planning Committee.

The Rover Company, Ltd., announce the following rearrangement of responsibilities on the Board: Mr. S. B. Wilks has vacated the chairmanship, whilst remaining a member of the Board, and Mr. M. F. C. Wilks has been appointed chairman and has relinquished the office of managing director. Mr. L. G. T. Farmer continues as executive vicechairman. and Mr. W. F. F. Martin-Hurst, deputy managing director, becomes sole managing director.

Mr. K. Allender has been appointed area manager, West Wales, of the Western Welsh Omnibus Co., Ltd.
Sir John Paget, Bt., has been appointed managing director of Dualloys, Ltd. He will take up his new duties on April 2.
Mr. P. G. Squires has been appointed commercial vehicle representative of Gilbert Rice, Ltd., of Horsham, Sussex, in succession to Mr. R. Salt, who has entered the haulage business on his own account.
Mr. T. F. Bye, 35, has been appointed an assistant manager of the Overseas Division of Castrol, Ltd., and Mr. L. D. Walker has been appointed assistant manager of Castrol Industrial, Ltd.'s plant builders department, which is part of the company's Industrial Division.
Mr. F. J. A. Shults, Tottenham's cleansing and transport superintendent, has been elected honorary exhibitions organizer for the annual conference of the Institute of Public Cleansing. He succeeds Mr. S. Stephen, director of public cleansing, Luton, now the Institute's senior vice-president. Mr. Shults is chairman of the London centre of the Institute and a member of the general council. Mr. F. B. Hyde, who was far 50 years with the Birfield Group, has retired from Laycock Engineering, Ltd.
Mr. A. Weston, personal assistant to Mr. D. G. Stokes, sales and service director of Leyland Motors Group, has now been appointed to the additional position of sales and service personnel officer. In this post he will deal with the movement of all Group sales and service staff, both in the U.K. and overseas.
Mr. Frank Cous:ns, general secretary of the Transport and General Workers' Union, and Mr. L. T. G. Fanner have been appointed to the advisory council of the Export Credits Guarantee Department following the resignations of Mr. W. .1, P. Webber and S:r Stanley Harley. Mr. Farmer is executive vice-chairman of the Rover Co., Ltd.
Mr. Arthur Hosker, works manager of Leyland Motors' North, South and Farington factories, has now been appointed general works manager of all five Lancashire headquarters factories of the company. Mr. Hosker was appointed production manager in 1951 and has in recent years acted as technical consultant to a number of Leyland's subsidiary and associated factories in Europe. He is also a director of one of these factories.
