III DURHAM-had Sleetburn Haulage has escaped with a formal warning fol lowing a public inquiry held in Leeds into maintenance matters.

The following undertakings were attached to the firm's licence: • There will be a nil defect daily driver reporting system. Defect repons will show rectification and all reports will be retained for at least two years.

• The firm will undertake a random audit of at least one driver per week to ensure the drivers are undertaking their walk round checks correctly. The findings will be recorded and made available to VOSA staff or the office of the TC on request.
