WITH CHRISTMAS around the corner, the elves at UPS are preparing to help Santa with his deliveries. The logistics giant expects to deliver some 430 million packages in the month leading up to 25 December.
The company says Christmas volumes will peak on 22 December, when it anticipates delivering 24 million packages worldwide, 60% up on its normal daily delivery volume of 15.1 million packages.
More presents are shipped with UPS than any other company in the world," says Alan Gershenhorn, senior vice-president of worldwide sales and marketing at UPS.
