The news followed a new .00p bid from Fruehauf — its ifth — to place the bid '7p ibove the second bid by the Inclicape group, which raised ts offer to 93p.
Now two Conservative MPs And one Labour member have sponsored a motion in the House of Commons calling for the company to be kept under British ownership.
But this has been seen as a last ditch stand, as the Fruehaf takeover plans have already been cleared by the Monopolies Commission.
The new Fruehauf bid values the company at £15.3mi!lion, against the original price of E4.2 million, and last week Crane shares increased in value by 6.5p due to the new bid.
