E. F. ("Ted") Kirby, service manager, has been appointed trade sales and service manager for the motor accessory division of Smiths Industries Ltd. B. Smalley is now manager, trade sales development; R. H. Snewin, now manager, servlee administration; and A. J. White, is now manager, trade sales administration.
Firestone announces that J. W. G. Smale has been appointed manager of the south western division with headquarters in the Reading district office. K. R. A. Lebane has been appointed district manager in South Wales, with headquarters in the Swansea district office.
Alex Templeton, formerly technical service manager at Fort Dunlop, Birmingham, has been appointed service supervisor for the Dunlop UK tyre group.
E. G. Longman has retired as technical sales director of the Hoffmann Manufacturing Co., Ltd. after 44 years service. One of the foremost authorities in Britain on the design and application of rolling bearings, Mr. Longman will still act as technical consultant to the company.
R. Abrahams has been appointed sales representative by Florida Auto Lamps. He will cover Northamptonshire from the Oxford office. Smith's Delivery Vehicles Ltd., of Gateshead on Tyne, announces that its marketing director, John Guthrie, is relinquishing his position with the company to become Frigiking manager responsible for the UK, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Frigiking is a wholly owned division of the Cummins Engine Co., Inc., USA.
J. G. Mayne has been appointed manager of the new Ulsterbus Ltd. depot in Dungannon, Co. Tyrone. Manager of the new company's depot in Magherafelt, Co. Londonderry, will be Bertie Steele, formerly a UTA bus inspector.
A. E. Giles has been appointed assistant general sales manager, A. 1). N. King, sales manager, automotive division, and B. R. E. Farey, assistant sales manager, automotive division, of the British Timken division of the Timken Roller Bearing Co., Duston, Northampton. B. L. Wheddon, sales engineer, industrial division, is to be transferred from the Glasgow to the London office. All the appointments take effect from December I.
IVIagnatex Ltd. announces that Robin Castles has joined the firm as northern regional manager; Les Goodall is now western regional manager; Paul Jarvis is south-east regional manager; Gordon Davison is Midlands regional manager; and James Lawson has joined the firm as Scottish area representative.
