BARRATT Bros., Dunfermline, last wee applied to the Scottish (Northern) Deput LA, Mr. L. A. Wells, at Kirkcaldy for a ! licence for two tippers of 4+ tons each to carr road and building material and building plan all within a radius of 35 miles of operating centr/ The application was opposed by three loci hauliers and was amended at the outset to on vehicle only and the radius to 20 miles.
Mr. R. J. Barratt said he was a lime spreade and that the bulk of this work was carried ot between January and the end of April. B therefore needed employment for the remainin months of the year.
Mr, Wells refused the application because was not supported as framed and the suppa given was only for peak periods. .
