WiTH effect from last Friday the Transport Development Group Ltd. has acquired the ssued share capital of the old-established Glasgow Hiring Co. Ltd., of 63 Port Dundas Road, Glasgow, and its associated companies, Clydebank Haulage Co. Ltd., and Daniel Duncan Ltd.

The companies operate about 215 vehicles on general merchandise and local delivery services in Glasgow and the west of Scotland; there is relatively little long-distance trunking, and the Daniel Duncan vehicles are mainly on newspaper distribution work.

To acquire the share capital, Transport Development paid £274,500 in cash and allotted 140,770 TDG Ordinary shares of 5s. each.

Mr. J. A. Barrie will continue, as managing director, to direct the affairs of the undertakings.
