MUNICIPAL BUSMEN'S WAGES CLAIM

LAIMS for an increase of wages for • drivers and conductors of municipal passenger-transport services came before the Joint Industrial Council for the industry a few days ago and, following usual practice, have been referred to the Emergency Committee of the Council, which will examine them and report. No specific amount was named, but it was argued that increased wages were necessary because of the higher cost of living and the conditions under which the men are now working.

A similar claim has already been made to London Transport.
