Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

, Excellent Examples of the Coachimilder's Art,

WHOSE of our readers who paid a 1 visit to the Scottish Motor Show held in Kelvin Hall, Glasgow, last week, will hardly have failed to notice two

specimens of Strachan and Brown bodywork mounted on examples of the Pentaiota-type Lancia chassis, which were on exhibition. We were unable to refer to these vehicles at length in our report of the show, owing to limitation of space, and, as they are such excellent products and incorporate many of the latest practices in bus body design, they are perhaps worthy of further reference.

These vehicles are illustrated on the previous page, one being a 25-seater bus body, and the other a saloon body of special design built primarily for a vehicle which is to be used on longdistance tours.

The 25-seater body is one which Messrs. Straelian and Brown, whose address is Wales Farm Road, Acton, Lon

don, W.3, are standardizing specialty for use on the Lands chassis. It is of the one-man-operated typo with an emergency door at the rear, and features of its construction include the company's patent drop windows and a special form of scuttle. Amongst interior eq:nipment note should be made of the underside of the roof, which incorporates a special design of moulding. • The passengers entrance at the front near side is of a particularly safe pattern, in so far as it completely encloses the steps giving access to the interior, whilst the • gear for operating the emergency door is of a new type. This door can be opened or closed from the outside or interior.

A feature of the saloon vehicle is the extremely low build of the body. This vehicle also seats 25 passengers, and the interior appointments, which include mahogany woodwork and leather upholstery; are most luxurious. A refined appearance is given by the utilization of nickel-plated fittings throughout. A special domed back is Included in the design of this body, which also possesses an emergency door of the type to which we have already referred in connection with the bus.
