• The annual Trans-Pennine run for historic commercial vehicles takes place on Sunday next, August 3.
Some 200 old lorries, buses, fire engines and steam vehicles will make the 103km (64 miles) annual pilgrimage from Manchester to Harrogate, starting at Bennett Street (off Hyde Road) at Manchester, and will travel via Rochdale, Todmorden, Halifax, Shelf, Bradford, Shipley, Guiseley, Otley and Pool, arriving at Harrogate around 11.30arn.
