• Rockwell Automotive is to spend 21.3 million on expanding its Maudslay division near Stratford-upon-Avon, to deal with the final preparation of the Italian Cameri-built CVC 'world axles' to UK customer's specifications.
In a rationalisation of the axle and motor pressings business, the Maudslay division will receive a refurbished assembly building equipped with powered assembly lines.
This will enable stocks of unfinished axles to be held at Maudslay in preparation for high volume orders. It is hoped that original equipment manufacturer stocks and preparation times will be reduced as a result.
Maudslay will also provide administrative support for the axle housing manufacture which will continue at the Wolverhampton Thompson Division.
