• New premises for the commercial vehicle service depot and coachbuilding works of Joseph Wilkinson (Motors) Ltd. will be opened on July 30 at 21 Seafield Road East, Edinburgh 15 (phone 031-669 1301). The company has the South East Scotland distributorship for Leyland, Albion and Scammell and the territory also includes Fife, Kinross and Clackmannan.
The new development covers an area of three acres with almost one acre of tarmacadam yard space. In a 65,000 sq.ft. undercover works area are two main bays of 100ft-span and 240ft-length. A Triangle brake tester is in a separate building with an inspection pit adequate for the longest vehicles. Equipment includes a 14 ton 2511-long Laycock hydraulic lift, steam cleaning facilities and full workshop machinery. The stores and spares department covers 7,500 sq.ft.
