Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

by Ron Cater • Eight minis and a van exemplify the load potential of the Carrimore Mark VI car transporter, 24 of which are currently being supplied to Cartransport (BRS) Ltd., the new car haulage subsidiary of British Road Services.

The Mark VI is produced at the Steel Barrel Scammells Group main factory in Stanley, Co. Durham, and has been built for operation at the latest permitted articulated vehicle length of 15 metres (49ft 2.5in.). It has a maximum payload capacity of 10 tons.

The twin-deck design incorporates a fixed lower deck of 40ft 2.75in. and an upper deck of 4911 2.75in. The top deck is pivotted on an A-frame at the front and supported at the rear end by knee action links—the whole being raised and lowered by two-stage hydraulic rams. To enable each deck to be loaded, the lower deck includes two integral pull-out ramps. Special Canimore bollards and chains with hooks are provided to secure the vehicles.

The full-width tandem-axle bogie is fitted with four single 9.00-20 14-ply tyres. Brakes are 15.25in. by 4.25in. operated by a three-line pressure. Suspension is of the slipper-ended spring type, intercoupled by central balance beams with the axles located by rubber-mounted radius rods, one of each pair being adjustable.
