Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Following the threat by busmen at the Rhyl and other depots of Crosville Motor Services Ltd. to refuse to charge passengers the fares increases awarded by the Traffic Commissioners recently (CM July 26) the company has reconsidered its decision.

A spokesman for Crosville said this week that the proposed increase in fares, which was due to commence on Sunday, July 28, had been postponed for the time being. It is understood that meetings between the management and union representatives are taking place.

At a meeting last week the Oswestry brandh, which also has not signed the nationally negotiated agreement for a 10s bonus with one-man operation, decided to make representation to the Crosville central committee. The men feel that conditions in the country districts of Shropshire and North Wales will make single-manning of all routes very difficult.

Mr. R. D. J. Jones, Oswestry TGWU secretary told CM: "We have co-operated with management 100 per cent in the introduction of one-man-operated buses, providing the routes have been acceptable, but we have services around here that I can never see operated by one man".
