• Driving with only side lights showing on roads with no street lighting will be prohibited by regulations to be made later this year. These will make it obligatory for headlamps to be used while on the move on all roads where there is no street lighting.
At the same time, the Transport Minister proposes to mount a campaign to encourage drivers to improve the aiming of their headlamps and to use them more except on very well lit streets.
