• No date has yet been fixed for the public inquiry which is expected to result from the application by certain companies acquiring or attempting to acquire part of the business of companies belonging to the David Bros. Group. It is expected, however, that this will not take place until late September or early October.
Applications have been lodged by Larrow Transport (Northern) Ltd., Charles Poulter Ltd., Walter Selby and Son Ltd., W. T. Small and Tower Wharf Services Ltd., for licences for vehicles previously in the name of David Bros. (Haulage) Ltd., C. Bristow Ltd., Albert E. Ewer Ltd., and Thomas Potter Priestley Ltd.
This development follows the liquidation of the group earlier this year and the ensuing auction of several Davis Bros. vehicles (as reported in CM June 28).
