Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Minor amendments to the Goods Vehicle (Plating and Testing) Regulations, 1968 were laid before Parliament on Tuesday bringing the legal requirements into line with current voluntary test practice.

The Schedule of test requirements stresses that a motor vehicle or trailer of a class not allowed to be used with re-cut tyres will be failed if fitted with them on examination.

The Regulations call for condition checks of glass in windscreens and cab windows. Headlamp tests will be restricted to those which do not involve dismantling; speedometer tests will be limited to testing station facilities.

The additions to the inspections embodied in the May 1968 edition of the Goods Vehicle Testers' Manual are involved.

Copies of the amending Regulations (S.I. 1968/1169) are obtainable from HM Stationery Office, price 6d.
