• As reported in CM on July 12, in Common room, a committee has been formed to develop and present to the Minister of Transport a set of proposals for the implementation of the proposed transport managers' licences. The members of the committee cover the range of interests broadly described as the industry in the White Paper, The Transport of Freight. This committee has now been joined by a representative of the MoT Other organizations represented are: Industrial Transport Association: Institute of Road Transport Engineers; Institute of Traffic Administration; Institute of Transport: Road Haulage Association; Road Transport Industry Training Board; Traders Road Transport Association.
The chairman is Mr. D. H. Joyce and the honorary secretary is Mr. L: J. Evans, both of Shell-Mex and BP Ltd.
