Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Iwas interested to read the comments in your CV Show Report (CM5-11 March). It was good of you to acknowledge that the IRTE's Telford Show still has no real rival, and I am confident that this will be demonstrated again in May. Nevertheless, the future of shows in the UK is an important issue that cannot be ignored.

The IRTE has run an annual exhibition for the past 28 years. The revenue it produces is vital to the institute's work in pursuit of its charitable aims for the benefit of the industry as a whole—notably in setting education and training standards, supporting modern apprenticeships, sponsoring technical investigations and publication of best practice.

The IRTE is well aware of exhibitors' concerns over the increase in the number and range of shows in recent years, and wishes to see this problem resolved. We shall be very interested to hear CM readers' views. Philip Corp, Chief executive, The Institute of Road Transport Engineers, London.
