TO DEVELOP its trading operations in Eastern European countries, General Motors is to sign a multi-million pound agreement with Poland to build and market trucks. The trucks will be of GM design and will be manufactured at a factory in Poland under its guidance.
A possibility exists that the trucks may eventually be sold in Western Europe, but if this were to be the case their sale would be handled entirely by General Motors. This is to ensure that Vauxhall-Bedford's interests in this sector would be protected from an influx of cheap trucks.
The Polish vehicles would cater for additional demand and fill specific gaps in model ranges.
