Normandy link ended
• The joint roll-on/roll-off freight service operated on the Southampton to Le Havre route by Thoresen Car Ferries Ltd and Normandy Ferries ended yesterday (April 1).
In a joint statement from the two companies last week the reason for the change in the arrangements which first started two years ago, was said to be largely due to certain reorganizations within Normandy Ferries which made it difficult to continue as previously.
The joint booking office which has been operated in Southampton by the two companies has been closed and freight companies have been asked to deal direct with the company on whose services space is required.
