NEWED FLEET
THE Pointer Group of Norwich hie I decided to standardize on Leylands tot the bulk of its fleet, it was announced last week. Pointer says this decision resuih from careful analysis of coatings and per. formance over the past two years, and par. ticulatiy the service offered by mattufacturen and their agents.
The announcement was accompanied by the news that Pointer has just ordered tic fewer than 104 Leyland Beaver tractive units with the new Ergomatic cab as part of an extensive vehicle-replacement programme. The vehicles will he shod throughout with Dunlop tyres. Semi-trailer orders are now being negotiated.
Seen in the accompanying photograph (right) is a recent delivery to Pointer's Peter. borough depot, a Leyland Beaver-York EP13R outfit, tiw 33 ft. 6 in.-long Wallin being used to carry long steel and timber.
