Ltd., with a record free of accidents for five years could receive bonuses amounting to £15, Last year the company paid bonuses totalling nearly £8.000 for accident-free driving. Drivers receive an annual award of £2 for driving without an accident for which they are to blame. In addition, the company pay a £5 bonus each time a man receives the award of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents for five consecutive years' accident-free driving.

In 1953, 3.304 awards were gained by Shell-Mex and B.P. drivers.
