NEW ADDITIVE IN BP SUPER
ANEW additive, known as BP 08, is now incorporated in BP Super petrol. Its effect is to reduce the rate of formation of carbon and lead deposits and to change their nature. The deposits are a mixture of carbon -and lead compounds derived from tetra-ethyl-lead and may cause preignition if they become incandescent.
With BP 08, the particles of carbon and lead are less able to coalesce and do not cling so tenaciously to combustion chamber and valve surfaces. Much of the matter 'passes out through the exhaust. A further effect is that plug fouling is reduced.
There is no change in price.
