The vehicles have been designed for the hulk transport of empty containers and each can carry about 1,400 five-gallon. drums.

The bodies were built by the Airwork General Trading Co., Ltd., Heston, and incorporate sheets of resin-bonded plywood measuring 23 ft. 4 ins, by 5 ft, 10 ins, by bin. The total weight of the complete vehicle is 5 tons 3 cwt The height is 13 ft. 5 ins., width 7 ft 6 ins., and length 25 ft. 6 ins.

Loading and unloading are facilitated by the low floor line and full-depth doors. The spare wheel, stored inside the body, is readily accessible through a trap doo,, which, when lowered. forms a ramp. The tractors are equipped with Scammell automatic coupling gear.
