G SLATER Landscaping and Haulage, based in Llanbedr, Gwynedd, attended a public inquiry (PI) in Denbigh on 19 August, where the following ruling was issued: ● that the operator retains his good repute by the narrowest of margins; ● the licence is curtailed with immediate effect to one vehicle; ● the deputy trafic commissioner (DTC) accepted a statutory declaration regarding inance from the parents of the operator, but evidence of a minimum of £8,100 must be provided; ● the irm’s transport manager’s repute is lost with immediate effect and a new transport manager must be nominated; ● consideration for the reinstatement of good repute may be applied for subject to a satisfactory audit of the operation completed after the appointment of a new transport manager. An audit report will be prepared, acted upon and kept for at least two years. A copy of the report will be forwarded to the Welsh Trafic Area Ofice together with the operator’s proposal for implementing its recommendations; ● there will be no increase in authorisation until a satisfactory audit report is received.
