Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Half of Britain's exporters to the Continent plan to review their transport arrangements before the early 1990s.

Less than 50% of decisionmaking bosses in a MORIRailfreight survey say they were "very well informed" about alternative modes of transport. Most of the 175 respondents take their full loads to the Continent by road and say that cost and speed are their major consideration.

Ferry crossing documentation, customs and strikes cause the most frustration, says the survey.
