as co-ordinator for the Small Firms Service in Essex and Hertfordshire, following the opening of the new regional office in Stevenage. McKillop resigned from Beck Pollitzer two years ago where he was managing director.
The SFS, which is part of the Department of Employment, provides a free counselling service to new and existing busnesses, of up to 200 employees.
• SCAN INTERNATIONAL BROOKSBANK David Brooksbank has been named as group managing director for the Scan Intema tional group of companies.
Brooksbank is a former worldwide general manager (cargo) for British Caledonian Airways and brings 30 year's experience with him.
• DACIA BUTCHER Dacia Concessionaries has announced the appointment of Richard Butcher as production director.
Butcher will assume responsibility for quality control of the Duster 4x4 and Shifter Pick-up products at the company's predelivery inspection centre, as well as direct liasion with the manufacturer.
He joins Dacia from Lancar, where he was technical director designate.
• D.IS HOLDINGS SPARSHATT DJS Holdings has appointed Gordon Sparshatt to run its new National Fleet Services operation.
Based in London, Sparshatt will represent the company to transport industry chiefs, emphasizing its involvement in contract-hire and its MercedesBenz truck and car dealerships.
• MOTOR Aucnotis GROUP BAY LIS New managing director at Motor Auctions Group is Michael Baylis. He was previously group operations director of the Walsall-based auction company, which he joined from the Charles Clark Group where he was sales director.
• DETROIT DIESEL CORPORATION HART The Detroit Diesel Corporation has named Keith Hart as vice-president (sales).
Hart's job is to collaborate with Perkins Engines North America, where he was previously president.
• PLAXTON/VOLVO • US GLENNIE Sandy Glennie has been released from his service contract as managing director, Plaxton Marketing, to join a newly-created national sales company for Volvo Bus and Leyland Bus products as managing director.
• RTITB LINDSAY/TAYLOR/ MITCHELL Three new members have been appointed to the Road Transport Industry Training Board, under the Employment Act 1988.
They are Nan Lindsay, John Taylor and Peter Mitchell, who were appointed with particular interest for small business, group training associations and management training.
• HDL ENGINEERING GIBBON HDL engineemg, part of the Hillsdown Group, has appointed Mike Gibbon as national sales manager. He joins HDL from Goodyear Tyre Services. • BEES SECURITY DISTRIBUTION BURDETT/MACCLEAN Bees Security Distribution has appointed Keith Burdett as truck rental manager at its Hinckley depot. Burdett comes from Belfield Road Services (Liverpool) where he was transport manager.
Fraser MacClean joins Bees at its Linwood depot where he will introduce and manage truck rental services, MacClean joins Bees from Scottish Road Services where he was truck rental manager.
