• Portsmouth-based transport company Hughes Group has bought CV rental specialist Sibley Hire and waste haulier Sibley Tidybins, both based in Southampton,
Sibley Hire has 20 vehicles, mostly small vans and 7.5tonne tippers. It will now trade under the name Hughes Self Drive, and the new owner plans to expand the fleet.
Sibley Tidybins has seven CVs and 150 waste containers. Hughes will take over its contracts with New Forest District Council, and is opening a site on Nursling Industrial estate as a base for Tidybin contracts.
