• Growth projections for 1988 by Rentco International, the European trailer rental firm have been underestimated, according to the chairman Sandy Aranyos.
The company is to invest about £20 million in new additions to its trailer fleet. Originally Rentco planned to add an extra 1,250 trailers, but the increase in the contract-hire business has meant the figure is set to exceed 1,400.
In 1989 the company proposes to open seven new branches in the UK, France, Belgium and Holland.
