Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

NORDE'S SOLUTION to operators' problems over axle-load equalisation, particularly on tri-axle trailers, is its new Fluidride suspension which makes its debut at next month's Motor Show.

The system, which can also be used for single or tandemaxle arrangements, uses fluid pressure to transfer loads between axles, Each axle is attached to a conventional parabolic leaf spring which pivots about the front hanger bracket and is supported at the rear by a rubber fluid displacer unit.

Upward movement of the axle displaces fluid from the unit which is then transferred by interconnecting pipes to displacers on the other axles.

Springing is achieved partly through leaf-spring deflection and partly through the expansion of the fluid displacer body.

The displacers are connected longitudinally on each side — but without any lateral fluid connections, thus ensuring roll stiffness.

Fluidride is a sealed system which becomes pressurised as load is applied to the axles and once the height has been set on initial installation requires no further adjustment.

Norde's Fluidride carries a 12month or 160,000km (100,000mile) warranty.
