THE Volkswagen LT range is to be extended for 1979. Makin, UK debut at the Birmingham Commercial Motor Show wil the LT 45 taking VW further up the weight range with a g] weight of 4.5 tonnes giving a payload of 2.9 tonnes (2 ton cwt). It will be available as a high-roof panel van, a chassis. or a crew-cab which VW refers to as a "double cab."
