A TENDER of £4.33 million from Sir Alfred McAlpine and Son (Northern) Ltd for the 23/4-mile length of the M56 between Stoak and Lea-byBackford has been accepted by the Department of Transport.
This last length of the M56 will complete a 35-mile motorway from South Manchester linking Lancashire and Yorkshire with West Cheshire and North Wales by means of M6, M62 and M63.
