A MANCHESTER transport company was admonished this week by the North Western deputy Licensing Authority, Mr. G. Newman, for allowing a vehicle—untaxed for 18 months—to remain on its carriers' licence. Mr. Newman wanted to know why Translloyd Air Services Ltd. had not put its house in order with regard to licensing.
The company was applying for a continuation of a three-vehicle B licence.
Mr. J. Blades, manager for the applicant at Manchester airport, explained that one of the vehicles had not been taxed since the middle of 1966: it had gone into Translloyd's Salford garage at that time but, because of a directorship change, he had been unable to obtain authorization for its repair or replacement.
He was hoping to obtain this permission soon and in the meantime had had to hire a vehicle. On September 9 the company had applied to remove the disused vehicle from the licence and to hire another to be used with the company's own driver.
Mr. Newman granted the application.
