• The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply is holding a one-day conference on minimising disputes in contracts at the Gloucester Hotel, London on 11 November.
It will look at how and why contractual disputes arise; examine ways of identifying and assessing risks; and discuss how to handle disputes.

TruckStops on show
• The TruckStops vehicle routeing and scheduling system from MicroAnalytics can be seen in action at a series of trade shows in the coming months. It will be exhibited alongside a range of other map-related software from its sole UK distributor, Kingswood.
The first showing was at the Public Procurement exhibition which will be at London's Olympia from 27-29 October.
It can be seen at The Metropole Hotel, National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, the venue for a one-day information technology seminar run by the Institute of Logistics and Distribution Management on 13 November.
Operators interested primarily in mapping and geographical information systems can see Kingswood's range at AG192, the Association for Geographic Information's fourth national conference and exhibition, which will be at the Birmingham Convention Centre from 24-26 November.
