THE POWER hydraulic braking system on the Terrier is light and powerful in operation.
The system is powered by nitrogen under pressure instead of the pressurised air used in other commercial vehicle braking systems. The nitrogen pressure needs checking only every six months, or 6,000 miles, to ensure that no reduction in the 600— 800psi operating pressure has occurred.
In the event of servicing being required, service repair kits are readily available from most Leyland distributors for both the foot valve and hand control unit. Bleeding the whole brake system can be carried out simply by one man.
