Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE 'Volvo TD100B engine fitted to the F88 series of trucks achieves an even greater degree of operating flexibility with the introduction of a 250hp derated version complementing the existing 290bhp unit.

The derating to 250bhp requires nothing more than changing of fuel injection elements so leaving the engine immediately capable of being re-rated at the full 290bhp should requirements demand.

The change has been made as a direct response to research into the Volvo markets.

The new rating has been certified to BSAU 141 (a) 1971 at 250bhp and the engine identification will carry a suffix D, meaning derated.

Details of the new rating with existing standard ratings in brackets are: 250bhp BSAU 141 (a) 1971 at 2400rpm. (290bhp BSAU 141 (a) 1971 at 2400rprri); 6791b ft torque at 1400ipm. (7091b ft at 1400rpm) both to BSAU 141 (a).

Engines with the new rating will become available in new vehicles from mid-January 1977.
