• The 0-licence renewal application by W. A. Glendinning Ltd, of Consett, was granted in the Northern area on Tuesday when Mr J. A. T. Hanlon authorized 30 vehicles and 39 trailers.
Eighteen months ago Mr Glendinning, then area chairman of the RHA, had his original licence application severely limited as a disciplinary measure because of vehicle condition and was granted only a short-term licence.
He told CM this week that he would be slowly building up his heavy vehicle fleet again but that in the meantime he had considerably expanded his use of light vehicles not requiring 0 licences.
