THE Minister of Transport intends to I make payments to the London Transport Board totalling 13115m. during the remainder of 1965. Reporting this to MPs this week, Mr. Fraser said that this sum was the amount of the additional revenue which the Board estimated the proposed—and postponed—fare increases would have brought in by the end of the year, He noted that the Government had not yet completed its examination of the conditions under which the Board operated.
'No' to Hinton Plea A PLEA for the Hinton report on trans11 port problems to he published was turned down in the Commons this week. Rejecting the request, from Mr. Charles Mapp (Labour, Oldham East), Mr, Stephen Swingler pointed out that any report arising from Lord Hinton's studies would be made in the form of a statement by the Minister to Parliament.
