West Riding County Council is to construct a by-pass road and bridge at Selby at an estimated cost of £203,000.
Warwick county surveyor is preparing a scheme for a by-pass road around the villages of Anstey and Shilton. The estimated cost is 151,000.
At a meeting of the watch committee Of Stoke-on-Trent Corporation it was reported that Mr. A. McMinn proposed purchasing the business of Messrs. Robert. Jones and Co. and, accordingly, the bus licences were transferred.
Rotherhithe Tunnel, which has been closed since October 14th, will not be re-opened until November 23rd.
