A bumper bar of pressed steel ties together the front dumbirons and forms an additional cross-member. The next

lateral member is that carrying the radiator and there is an inverted U-shaped one below the engine which forms the rear mounting basis for the engine-gearbox unit. Next is a crossmember below the _driver's seat and there are three gus.seted ones at intermediate points between the back of the cab and the end of the chassis. Nineinch extension pieces are riveted to the frame members. The maximum depth of the frame is 7 ins., the flange width is 21 ins., and the thickness of the metal

In a conventional type of bell housing is the clutch, and the gearbox mates with the back face of this housing. Four forward speeds are provided.

Under the driver's seat is the fuel tank, from which petrol is drawn by a vacuum tank on the front of the dash. This latter tank is of large size and gives a very serviceable fuel reserve. Bendix-Duo servo brakes operate on all four wheels, the drum' S at the rear being 17 ins. in diameter.
