Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

When removed, it was found that the splines in the bolt had stripped as a result of their softness. In fact the ultimate tensile strength was 43 tons/sq in compared to RO-R's standard of 65 tons/sq in."

Tests on the ISO nuts were equally alarming, in that the thread was oversize, making a very loose fit.

RO-R says that the assembly, which bears no manufacturer's indentification, will not be capable safely of taking ROR's recommended tightening torque of 70-75kgm (5005501bft).

The spurious bolts (see picture at the foot of this page) are turned from bar and the threaded end has a centering mark. The wheel nuts are of turned/milled construction.
