• Giltsave's bodybuilding plant at Rochford in Essex is being closed down, with the loss of approximately 50 jobs. Production will cease by the end of the year and parent company Highshares is planning to divide the Giltsave workload between its other bodybuilding subsidiaries Freight Bonallack of Norwich and Pem Bodies of Bournemouth.
Giltsave's new "Aero" Luton body for the Ford Transit will be manufactured at both Norwich and Bournemouth and marketed under the Pem banner. Pem will look after Giltsave's furniture van bodies and Freight Bonallack will look after the company's mobile libraries and workshops.
