• Protracted negotiations between London Buses and its maintenance staff finally broke down this week, when around 2,500 workers walked out.
The move follows London Buses' final pay offer, made on October 30, which offered 5% but included new productivity clauses. It is these which have been the cause of the disagreement.
A spokesperson for London Buses said the unions have been operating a work to rule for some time. The company made an ultimatum asking the staff to return to normal working since the final pay offer has been made.
