• Parceline, the Mayne Nickless subsidiary, is to open a new £6 million hub and headquarters building in West Bromwich at the beginning of next year.
The 5.7 hectare site is located next to the M5 and will serve the company's existing 26 satellite depots throughout the UK.
It will operate 24 hours a day and have parking spaces for 104 trucks and 34 loading bays. According to Derek Hearsey, Parceline's marketing services manager the depot "will revolutionise our existing operation."
Parceline is already looking for up to 100 new workers, although Hearsey says they want people to operate the new hub's sorting system rather than extra drivers.
Once the new hub at Roebuck Lane is opened in mid-January, the company's existing depot in Hamstead, Birmingham will be dosed and its 50 employees transferred.
