Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Services giant BET is restructuring its waste disposal operations following last month's £32 million acquisition of the Brengreen Group.

Under the new structure both Brengreen companies, Exclusive Cleaning Services and White Cross, and BET's existing company Biffa Waste Services, will be controlled by Biffa Holdings. This in turn will come under the umbrella of Initial, which, up to now has specialised in textile rental, cleansing and maintenance services_ Marketing and development director Mitch Gears says the Brengreen companies should help Biffa Holdings to win new local authority contracts.

BET produced a 21% increase in pre tax profits for the six months to the end of September, on turnover up by 7%. Industrial Services, including Initial, saw a 40% rise in profits to £27.4 million. BET's Transport operations (which include United Transport) fared less well, however, recording a 7% drop in profits, which has been largely attibuted to diverse exchange rate movements.
