Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A Southfield Coachworks' curtainside conversion of an original box body has helped increase the productivity of fleet dairy operator Percy L Rigby and Son's nine-year-old Dodge COmmando 16-tonner.

Urbanloader-type curtains have been used to replace heavy, top-hung sliding doors and runners, which were prone to accelerated wear.

The Perkins-powered Commando has covered over 340,000km and is now expected to last another five or six years.

Within its wholesale and retail fleet the Warrington based company operates 14 HGVs including two 16.26tonne ERFs, also powered by the Perkins six-in-line T6.354.4 direct-injection turbocharged engine.

Both ERFs were fitted from the start with Southfields Urbanloader body, giving full length access, and featuring strapless load bearing curtains.

In ERF's previous 16tonner, the M16 model, the Perkins 16 engine was fitted, but with a requirement for higher horsepower in the new model' the Cummins 'B' engine was specified.

ERF has a Phaser engine fitted to the E6 model and is conducting evaluation tests so it may not be long before Perkins is available as an option.
