An operator can check a diesel engine's: speed reading from idle to maximum governed speed; initial pump timing; and injection advance development — plus the other facilities of existing equipment where engine speed readings are required.

Only three connections are Souriau's 1586 diesel module. necessary to fit the module. The first is to the vehicle battery (12 or 24 volt): the second to the number one or reference injector pipe; and the third from the number one cylinder clamp of the existing test equipment to the 1586 module.

Souriau's diesel clamp enables readings to be taken from the engine without the need to disconnect injector pipes. An indicator lamp shows when a strong signal is sensed by the pipe clamp.

The unit is 245mm wide, 90mm high and 290mm diameter, A full service and parts guarantee is issued.
