Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Inflation, Belper, Truck

A GROWTH in the number of goods vehicles by as much as seven times the present figure would result in the banning of heavy vehicles. This was pointed out last week by Mr Richard Earl, operations manager of Eastern British Road Services Ltd. He was speaking to theā€¢ Institute of Work Study Practitioners in Belper, Derbys.

Mr Earl said that further legislation implemented to reduce the size of goods vehicles would put a vicious twist in the inflation spiral. The problem of road transport and the environment could be solved, he felt, by the various groups involved getting together to thrash out a policy suitable. to all.
