GRANTING an application by J. Nicholson and Sons (New Washington), Ltd.' to operate additional day tours from Washington, Co. Durham, the Northern Area Traffic Commissioner, Mr. S. W. Nelson, said that opportunities should be provided for recreation if the peace were not going to be lost through boredom.
The company asked permission to operate six additional day tours. The Commissioner suggested that only three vehicles should be used on each tour at first, and thar this number could be varied if necessary. The application was opposed by the L.N.E. Railway Co., Messrs. Primrose De Luxe Coaches and the Northern General Transport Co., Ltd.
